Ericeira is a well-known fishing village and World Surfing Reserve located less than an hour from Lisbon. Once a year, Ericeira celebrates octopus, and all of its culinary potential during the Festival do Polvo Ericeira. This year's 8th edition of the Octopus Festival takes place from the 19th to the 28th of May.
Octopus is one of the most iconic ingredients of Portuguese cuisine, enjoyed in many traditional dishes. During Festival do Polvo, joining restaurants will offer a special themed menu, drawing inspiration from regional cuisine.
From the traditional octopus à lagareiro and grilled octopus recipes to surprising culinary creations, the local chefs will show all their talent and creativity when exploring the flavors of the sea.
